The SN 18ELF is an extended low frequency transducer intended for
applications where ultra low frequency response is specified. The 18
inch (460mm) diameter chassis provides a large cross sectional area
capable of very large acoustic volume velocities. The mechanical suspension
system has been optimized for large linear excursion and is
well suited for the rated bandwidth of 30Hz to 100Hz. All performance
parameters have been fully analyzed and optimized using state of the
art computer based analysis methods.
The SN-18ELF features a medium format 3 inch (76.2mm) diameter
voice coil. This voice coil design utilizes rectangular aluminum wire in
an edge wound configuration found in all professional high performance
designs. The die cast aluminum chassis and light weight but very high
energy product Neodymium magnetic system combine to produce an
extremely light weight design.
The extended low frequency performance of the SN-18ELF make it an
ideal choice when applications such as special low frequency effects
are specified. The SN-18ELF is well suited for dance floor, mobile DJ
and general purpose portable public address system designs. The
